 Race in JL Video | Come and visit us at our great retail store, located on the border of Seattle neighborhoods Fremont and Wallingford. The shop is our opportunity to showcase the full line of JL technical clothing and accessories—without crosswind or threat of cancellation due to lightning! The shop is named Race in JL. It is located just a block from Lake Union at 3425 Stone Way N. The showroom features the brightest and newest techwear from our workshop, as well as the standards you wear for everyday training. We also carry a growing line of nutritional products, books and DVDs, training aids, rowing-themed casual clothing, and other related items. JL Speaker Series: Brad Lewis Our first of the Speaker Series was a roaring success. Over 60 people enjoyed Brad's presentation of racing strategy, and the discussion about his training techniques was inspiring. Check back for video clips of the evening! |
We chose Seattle in part because the rowing community here has roots that are deep and broad. You can’t go far in the northwest without running into water—water with rowers on it. The other reasons are personal. After 20 years raising our family in Orange County, we relocated to the Seattle area (honestly, for the weather). The story goes on; feel free to skip to the last paragraph at any time. FGA's (Frequently Given Answers) Yes, we will continue to do all of our manufacturing in California. Yes, teams will still be serviced from there. Yes, it has been a challenge to manage from afar, and especially, YES, we have really great people there. As the owners of a small, tightly run business, the distance from day-to-day operations has allowed us to put our energy into the growth of JL. This decision to separate our stock and team operations is just one of the ways we intend to improve the efficiency of both. We’ve had time to explore a new line of products, based on our belief in the use of sustainable materials. We continue to work on processes and systems, to make the JL experience even more positive—from the day you order to the day you pass on your favorite rowing garment to your kids.
